New Donkey Kong Theme Park Coming to Japan in 2024

Osaka, Japan - A new Donkey Kong theme park is coming to Japan in 2024. The park will be located in Universal Studios Japan, in Osaka. The 10-acre park will feature rides, interactive attractions, themed playscapes, and shows, all based on the popular Donkey Kong video game franchise.


The park will be operated by Universal Parks & Resorts, the company behind Universal Studios theme parks around the world. Universal has already opened one Donkey Kong-themed area in Universal Studios Japan, but the new park will be much larger and increase Super Nintendo World by an estimated 70%.


Some of the rides and attractions that are rumored for the new park include:

  • Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness: A roller coaster that takes guests on a wild ride through a golden temple with a waterfall cascading down the front.

  • Diddy Kong Racing: A family-friendly dark ride that takes guests on a journey through the world of Diddy Kong Racing.

  • K Rool's Kremling Krew: A water play area with fountains, slides, and water cannons.

  • Donkey Kong Jungle Adventure: A large outdoor play area with slides, swings, and other interactive features.

  • DK Island Festival: A live show featuring Donkey Kong and his friends.

The park will also feature character meet-and-greets, themed shops, and restaurants.

The new Donkey Kong theme park is scheduled to open in 2024. Tickets for the park will go on sale later this year.

Donkey Kong is a video game character created by Shigeru Miyamoto. He first appeared in the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong, where he was the villain. Donkey Kong has since become one of Nintendo's most popular characters, appearing in numerous video games, television shows, and movies.


The new Donkey Kong theme park is sure to be a hit with fans of the character. With a variety of rides and attractions, families of all ages are sure to have a fun and memorable time at the park.
