Technical Specs for the Thrill Seeker

This ship represents a first of a kind for Disney. Typically, Disney is involved from the beginning in ship design and construction, but Disney Adventure was actually puchased partially constructed from Dream Cruises in a liquidation sale. Despite this, Disney Cruise Line emphasizes that all the special Disney magic will still be present throughout the ship.

The Disney Adventure will be a behemoth, boasting a gross tonnage of 208,000 and a capacity to accommodate approximately 6,700 passengers and 2,500 crew members. Once completed it will be 44% larger than the popular Disney Wonder ship, offering ample space for exciting onboard activities. Imagine splashing around in a one-of-a-kind water park featuring thrilling slides and relaxing pools, all themed around your favorite Disney characters. While many details about the ship's entertainment offerings are still under wraps, some information has been released. Disney Adventure will feature 7 themed areas including:

Disney Imagination Garden

The Disney Adventure is expected to offer a variety of itineraries, including shorter three- and four-night cruises, making it perfect for families with young children, those seeking a quick getaway, or families looking to combine it with other travels. These shorter cruises are ideal for introducing kids to the magic of Disney at sea without a long commitment. Onboard activities will cater to all ages, with dedicated spaces aimed to delight children of different ages. Disney's Oceaneer Club caters to the 3-10 year old crowd with play spaces, activities, and character experiences. For tweens, Edge offers a variety of programming to engage children in games and activities. Teens 14-17 are not forgotten in the planning. Vibe is their dedicated space designed to be "cool" and allow teens to hang out and listen to music and play games with one another.

Planning Your Disney Adventure

With the exciting debut of the Disney Adventure on the horizon, here are some tips for planning your family's dream Disney cruise:

  • Book Early:  Disney cruises tend to book up quickly, especially during peak seasons. Once the official booking window opens, consider booking your desired itinerary and stateroom as soon as possible.

  • Research Itineraries:  The Disney Adventure is expected to offer a variety of itineraries focusing on Asian destinations, potentially including stops in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Choose an itinerary that aligns with your interests and desired length of cruise.

  • Consider Pre- or Post-Cruise Activities:  Singapore offers a wealth of family-friendly attractions and activities. Extend your adventure by booking some time on land to explore this fascinating city-state.

  • Pack for Fun:  Don't forget the essentials like swimsuits, sunscreen, and hats for enjoying the onboard pools and water features. Remember cruise ship cabins tend to be smaller in size than hotel rooms, so try and minimize the numbers of bags you will need to store in your room, if possible.

The Disney Adventure promises to be an exciting addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, offering families in Asia and beyond a unique way to experience the magic of Disney at sea. Start planning your adventure today and get ready to set sail on a voyage filled with unforgettable memories!
